2017 STOCK BIG CAR RULES (ADKINS & CREEK)

1. ANY PASSENGER CAR OR STATION WAGON ONLY. NO TRUCKS, JEEPS, HEARSES, LIMOUSINES OR CHECKERED CABS. NO PRE 1973 CHRYSLER IMPERIALS AND NO IMPERIAL SUB FRAMES. NO PRE 1973 LINCOLNS.
2. SEDAGONS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
3. ALL GASS, SIDE WINDOWS, REAR WINDOWS, HEADLIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHTS MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE REACHING TRACK. ROLLING DOWN WINDOWS IS NOT PERMITED.
4. REAR SEAT OF SEDAN MUST BE REMOVED, TOP AND BOTTOM. ON STATION WAGONS ALL SEATS AND DECKING MUST BE REMOVED. STATION WAGONS MUST BE EMPTIED TO THE FLOORBOARDS.
5. CARS MUST HAVE A SEATBELT AND WORKING BRAKES. MANDATORY!!
6. BATTERY MAY BE MOVED, BUT MUST BE SECURELY FASTENED AND COVERED IN PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. TWO BATTERIES ARE ALLOWED.
7. FRONT WINSHIELD BAR IS MANDATORY AND IS LIMITED TO A 2” WIDE X 1/4” THICK STRAP OR A CHAIN/9 WIRE LOOP.
8. STOCK GAS TANK MUST BE REMOVED FROM ORIGINAL POSITION AND MOUNTED IN THE REAR SEAT AREA. NO RUBBER OR CHAIN STRAPS. ALL TAMKS MUST HAVE A SECURE CAP. A MARINE TANK OR FUEL CELL IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. ALL LINES AND FITTINGS MUST BE LEAK PROOF AND MEET APPROVAL OF THE TRACK OFFICIALS. ELECRIC FUEL PUMPS ARE ALLOWED. ALL TANKS MUST BE SECURED DOWN AND BE COVERED. NO RACHET STRAPS TO SHEET METAL. (INSPECTOR AND OFFICIALS HAVE THE FINAL SAY ON SAFETY).
9. ALL LINES MUST BE RAN INSIDE CAR, NOT ALONG THE FRAME UNDERNEATH.
10. ALL LINES SHOULD BE DOUBLE CLAMPED. NO ALOCOHOL.
11. RADIATOR MUST BE IN STOCK POSITION.
12. NO RADIATOR GUARDS. ANY AUTOMOTIVE TYPE RADIATOR CAN BE USED. ALUMINUM RADIATORS ARE LEGAL.
13. NO HOMADE RADIATORS ARE ALLOWED.
14. NO RESERVE TANKS AND NO ADDED COOLING CAPAPCITY.
15. ONE ELECTRIC FAN, MOUNTED TO THE RADIATOR, MAY BE USED.
16. DO NOT MOVE CORE SUPPORT. (CORE SUPPORT SPACER HEIGHT 4” MAXIMUM) SPACER CAN NOT BE WELDED.
17. NO BODY SEAMS MAY BE WELDED. NO METAL MAY BE ADDED.
18. NO DOUBLING OF BODY PANELS ALLOWED, NO ADDED METAL ALLOWED.
19. NO BODY CREASING. THIS MEANS YOU CAN NOT BEAT QUARTER IN OR OUT ON A FRESH CAR.
20. FENDERS MAY BE BOLTED TOGETHER. MAX 10-3/8” BOLTS AND WASHERS FOR 3/8 BOLT ABOVE THE FENDER WELL. NO HOMEMADE WASHERS.
21. DOORS MAY BE CHAINED, WIRED OR WELDED. WELDED DOORS ARE THE ONLY WELDING ON THE CAR BODY ALLOWED. WHEN WELDING DOORS: 6” ON 6” OFF ALL THE WAY AROUND OUTSIDE OF CAR ONLY.
22. NO CHANGING BODY MOUNTS. DON’T TOUCH THEM!
23. SUSPENSION MUST BE STOCK. SPRING SPACERS ARE ALLOWED.
24. YOU MAY RUN ANY TIE ROD.
25. NO SOLID SUSPENSION. CAR MUST BOUNCE.
26. HOOD MUST BE OPEN AT INSPECTION.
27. HOODS MUST HAVE 2 HOLES, AT LEAST 4” IN DIAMETER ON EACH SIDE OF THE CARBURETOR. NOT DIRECTLY ON TOP OF THE CARBURETOR. IF THE HOOD IS REMOVED, EITHER THE FAN OR FAN BELT MUST BE REMOVED.
28. HOOD MAY BE SECURED BY 2 PIECES OF ALL THREAD OUTBOARD THE RADIATOR. CANNOT BE SLEEVED.
29. HOODS CAN BE HELD SHUT WITH 1 OF THE FOLLOWING BUT NOT BOTH:
(A) 8 PIECES OF 2” LONG PIECES OF 2” X 2” ANGLE WITH A SINGLE 3/8” BOLD THROUGH THEM
(B) 8 PIECES OF #9 WIRE ATTACHING HOOD TO FENDER.
(C) 8 MOUNTING SPOTS ONLY WITH WASHER NO BIGGER THAN 4”.
30. YOU ARE ALLOWED UNLIMITED #9 WIRE ACROSS THE FRONT IN FRONT OF RADIATOR.
31. TRUNK LID CAN BE WELDED 6” ON 6” OFF. YOU MAY USE 4 PIECES OF ALL THREAD TO SECURE THE TRUNK LID. ALL THREAD AND WASHER MUST BE INSIDE FRAME RAIL IN FACTORY LOCATION THROUGH REAR BODY MOUNTS ONLY. 3” WASHER MAX. NO SLEEVING THE ALL THREAD AND NO NUTS DIRECTLY UNDER THE TRUNK LID.
32. UNLIMITED #9 WIRE ACROSS THE BACK CAN BE USED HERE AS WELL FROM TRUNK TO BUMPER AND IN 4 SPOTS ON EACH SIDE. OR 4 ANGLE BACK TO BACK WITH ONE 3/8” BOLT IN EACH.
33. THE TRUNK LID MUST REMAIN ON HINGES.
34. THE TRUNK LID MAY BE V’D IN THE CENTER, BUT MUST REMAIN ATLEAST 10” OFF THE TRUNK FLOOR. QUARTERS CAN NOT BE BEAT DOWN OR IN.
35. ALL CARS MUST HAVE A SAFETY CAGE AND ROLL OVER BAR.
36. A 4 POINT CAGE IS REQUIRED AND LIMITED TO 4 POINTS ONLY. YOUR CAGE MUST HAVE A DASH BAR THAT MUST BE 4” FROM THE FIREWALL. YOU CAGE MUST HAVE A BAR BEHIND B PILLAR NO MORE THAN 6” AWAY FROM IT. YOU MUST HAVE 2 SIDE BARS AND THEY MUST NOT BE FARTHER THAN THE REAR WHEEL HUMPS AND MUST NOT EXTEND PAST YOUR DASH BAR. THE SIDE BARS MAY NOT BE WELDED TO THE REAR HUMPS.
37. ROLL OVER BAR CANNOT BE MORE THAN 6” BEHIND B PILLAR. ROLL OVER BAR CANNOT ATTACH TO FRAME. WELD OR BOLT IT TO SHEET METAL ONLY. A 6” X 6” PLATE MAY BE USED IS AIDING IT TO BE ATTACHED TO FLOOR SHEET METAL. ROLL OVER BAR MAY BE BOLTED TO ROOF IN TWO SPOTS ONLY. DRIVER & PASSENGER FRONT DOOR BARS: YOU MAY PLATE FROM DOOR BAR TO BOTTOM OF DOOR, 1/4” MAX THICKNESS ON PLATE. THIS IS FOR SAFETY PURPOSES ONLY. DO NOT GET CREATIVE WITH THIS OR YOU WILL CUT. IF YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND, CALL FIRST.
38. THE CAGE CAN BE WELDED TO SHEET METAL ONLY. YOU CAN HAVE UP TO 4 DOWN POSTS, 2 PER SIDE. NOTHING CAN BE RAN BETWEEN THE REAR WHEEL HUMPS OR WELDED TO THE HUMPS. NO KICKERS TO THE FRAME HUMPS- FRONT OF BACK. YOU ARE ALLOWED 2 STRANDS OF #9 WIRE (NO CHAINS) FROM CAGE TO FRAME RAIL IN CENTER OF DOORS, STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN.
39. CAGE CAN BE MADE OUT OF 6” PIPE OR 6” SQUARE TUBING MAX.
40. ALL DOWN TUBES MUST BE AT OR BEHIND THE DASH BAR, STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN. WELDED TO SHEET METAL ONLY.
41. YOU MAY HAVE A GAS TANK PROTECTOR NO WIDER THAN 24” AND 10” OFF BACK OF SEAT PAN.
42. NO WELDING, PLATING OR REINFORCING OF THE FRAME.
43. ALL FACTORY FRAME HOLES MUST BE LEFT OPEN.
44. ANY REINFORCING OF FRAME FOUND WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. PITCHING THE FRAME: YOU CAN ONLY COLD BEND!!
45. SUB FRAME CARS CANNOT BE TIED TOGETHER. IF YOU WANT TO RUN A FULL FRAME CAR, BUY A FULL FRAME CAR, DON’T BUILD ONE.
46. YOU CAN SHORTEN THE FRONT FRAME ONLY TO AID IN MOUNTING FRONT BUMPER. CANNOT BE MORE THAN 3” INCHES AND MUST NOT TOUCH FRONT MOUNT.
47. ANY STEERING ALLOWED.
48. REAR FRAME RAILS MAY NOT BE SHORTENED.
49. YOU MAY CHAIN OR WIRE YOUR AXLE TO FRAME HUMP. ONE SPOT PER SIDE MAY NOT BE BOLTED THRU FARME.
50. OEM SHOCK CANISTER FORD TO FORD, GM TO GM ECT. AND STOCK BUMPERS ONLY. ANY BUMPER ON ANY CAR. NO REAR BUMPERS OR REAR SHOCK TUBES ON FRONT. MUST BE MOUNTED WITH FACTORY MATERIAL AND IN FACTORY LOCATION.
51. BUMPERS MAY BE WELDED ON. NO ADDED METAL, SINGLE PASS ONLY. IF YOU SHORTEN THE FRAME 3” YOU MUST ALSO SHORTEN THE SHOCK.
52. YOU MAY BOLT A CHAIN FROM BUMPER TO BUMPER SHOCK AT THE FRAME 3/8” MAX.
53. LOADED BUMPERS CAN BE LOADED ONLY INSIDE OEM CAR BUMPERS!
54. BUMPERS CAN BE NO HIGHER THAN 27” FROM THE GORUND TO THE TOP OF THE BUMPER OR LOWER THAN 16” FROM THE GROUND TO THE BOTTOM OF FRAMERAIL.
55. ANY ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION MAY BE USED IN ANY CAR, BUT MUST BE MOUNTED WITHIN 6” OF THE ORIGINAL MOTOR. ENGINE CANNOT PROTRUDE INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT BEFORE THE RACE.
56. LOWER ENGINE CRADLE WITH PULLEY PROTECTOR ALLOWED.
57. CHAINED, WELDED OR HOMEMADE MOTOR MOUNTS WILL BE PERMITTED, BUT MUST MEET APPROVAL OF OFFICIALS. (NOTHING ADDED TO STRENGTHEN CAR)
58. TRANSMISSION OIL COOLERS AND ENGINE OIL COOLERS ARE PERMITTED. THEY MUST BE SECURED AND CONTAINED AND COVERED INSIDE THE CAR, FOR THE DRIVER’S PROTECTION.
59. PULLEY PROTECTORS ARE ALLOWED.
60. NO SKID PLATES.
61. NO DISTRIBUTOR PROTECTORS.
62. NO TRANSMISSION PROTECTORS. YOU MAY RUN A PAN PROTECTOR BUT NO TRANSMISSION BRACES.
63. FACTORY ALUMINUM CRADLES IN 2003 AND NEWER CARS MAY NOT BE CHANGED. NO HOMEMADE CRADLES.
64. HOMEMADE GAS PEDALS, BRAKE PEDLAS AND SHIFTERS ALLOWED.
65. ANY REAR END CAN BE USED. COIL SPRINGS MAY BE TACK WELDED OR BOLTED AT THE BOTTOM.
66. ON MODELS ORIGINALLY EQUIPPED WITH LEAF SPRINGS, STOCK LEAF SPRINGS AND HANGERS MUST BE USED
67. LEAF PACKS ON ALL CARS MUST BE OEM STOCK.
68. SLIDER DRIVE SHAFT IS PERMITTED.
69. YOU MAY HAVE 5 SPING CLAMPS PER SPRING.
70. ANY WHEEL/RUBBER TIRE ALLOWED, ROUND AND BLACK. WHEEL WEIGHTS MUST BE REMOVED.

PRERUN CARS: YOU ARE ALLOWED 4 3”X5” PATCH PLATES. IN ORDER TO GET THE PATCH, IT HAS TO BE VISIBLY BENT,

RUST REPAIRS: PLEASE CONTACT ERIC OR JOHN FIRST

THE ONLY WELDING ALLOWED WILL THE BE BUMPER, THE CAGE, DOORS,
MOTOR MOUNTS, ANGLE ON THE HOOD AND TRUNK.

THESE ARE ALL OUTLINED ABOVE. IF IT DOESN’T SAY YOU CAN DO IT, DON’T ASSUME THAT YOU CAN!

IF YOU ARE FOUND TO BE OVER BUILT FOR THESE RULES, YOU WILL BE GIVEN 2 OPTIONS:

(A) CUT OR REMOVE ILLEGAL PARTS
(B) LOAD ON TRAILER AND GO HOME
(C) ANY CAR THAT DOESEN’T PASS INSPECTION THE 2ND TIME WILL BE CHARGE $25 FOR THE 3RD INSPECTION.

EITHER WAY YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A REFUND!

ANY CAR NOT IN THE INSPECTION LINE 1 HOUR BEFORE THE SHOW WILL BE CHARGE AN ADDITIONAL $50.
